This jade picture was composed in April 2006. It is made up of my favourite flat jade button pieces.
Picture shows a central large butterfly surrounded by 4 pairs of smaller jade butterfly, separated by coral twigs.

An exquisite jade flower basket carved in 3 sections. Basket hangs from jade ring and jade plague swings at the bottom of the hollowed out basket. Only 3.5cm high the piece is delicateand fragile

Jade Buttons

I collect antique jade buttons as a pastime. My buttons date mostly from Ming through Qing Dynasty. Most of them were purchased in Singapore, and China. The best pieces come from Xian, Luoyang and Shenzhen.

Sometimes these buttons are also called jade flowers because of the floral design. Another use for them may have been as units for hairpins.
